More pics from today with Tom building.
Going out next tuesday at 9am meeting at corrals. If we can get at least five guys we will most likely finish in one day.
If not we will have to work at it another day.
See the picture of the little friend we found while working.

Hello again guys this trail is shaping up nice! Its a little rough on the edges right now but once a clean line gets pounded in this is going to be nice. After looking at the map and our progress thus far we are easily 2 days out from the finish line with myself and randy. If on the other hand a couple of you guys shall i say MAN UP and head out we can finish her in a day easy. we have more than enough tools to go around. Anyone who is able to between now and next tuesday there is a large creek section that could use some TLC.. moving some rocks around to make a smoother cleaner line and pulling some of the thicker leave spots up would be great maybe an hour or two worth of work. As usual i have attached the kmz of our furtherest point. Lets get"er done on tuesday so we can play on thursday night and into the weekend.

Yesterday, Randy and I cleared the creekbed and made it rideable, then we extended the singletrack another bit. Today I drug my kid out and we added another 100 yards or so of singletrack. Between the two days, the trail is now just about 100 yards from the oak tree at the meadow. Almost there...another few hours by 4-5 guys should connect it to the existing trails at the meadow.

BTW - the trail is totally rideable from where we ended at to the junction onto Tapia.

Want to say thank to Jose for putting in the time and helping on the trail what I saw looked great and that section of the creek is super fun to ride! Hopefully we will get this thing done on Tuesday and it will be ready for you to ride when you get back.

Ok so lets lay it out....
I can go anytime after nine on tuesday.
Jose is out of town.
Tom will come at noon.
We need a roll call on everyone who can make it to lay the "golden spike"
If you did not work you will not get your name on the Plaque azn
I need to drag a weedwacker out there. I have a big burlap army backpack that I can pedal it out with but I may need someone to carry my water pack. I am going to send an email linking it to this thread so that we can get a bunch of people out to finish this thing up and enjoy the trails for the summer. Come fall in september when it cools down we can build connectors at the top to existing trails recently cut by the fire crews (convicts at wayside).
Tuesday is the day...lets make it happen!!!!
Attached are pictures from yesterday.

We put a good 3 laps in the downhill direction today to help start to break in a line. the weed wacked section looks a little hairy since you cant see the dirt but it is 100% rideable. The more we ride it the faster we will get a good defined line burned in. to downhill the trail the best way is to climb up the fire road toward the bee hives and drop in like you were going to take the bee bypass trail up to the towers right when you get to the bottom hang a right and enjoy the nectar. Randy and I are planning to film it with the helmet cams on thursday morning i will work on getting that uploaded mid day thursday. I Would like to say a BIG thanks go out to all that helped with the trail: Bud, Chris, Dan, Tony, Scott, Mike, Jose, and anyone i missed thank you guys for the hard work with your help we got this .66 mile trail done in a hurry. Again thanks to all those that helped and for all those that ride it enjoy i have attached a Kmz file with the GPS profile enjoy.

Picture of today of Mike, Dan, and Chris. Great job guys...Dan even came out on his 43rd birthday...what a sacrafice! Thanks Dan for taking one for the team. Now if we could just get Kevin to do the same instead of being an arm chair quarterback.
Regarding the "Randy Climb" Tom is referring to:
As you notice from the picture Tom was not there to help and make decisions so I was out voted 3-1 so the trail went up instead of right.
Oh well....If anyone is not man enough to make the climb then maybe Kona climb might be the way for them to go...
Now get out there and ride. Any suggestions for a trail in September?
I am done for the summer. Need to get my "T-Rex" groove back on... wink

wav Thanks for adding that to our local inventory. It is a nice bit of trail that will get better as it wears in. Nice to get under the canopy while climbing like that.

Finally got to try the trail yesterday and have to say....."Great Job yet again.."  started to head up Kona until I came across a rattler in the middle of trail.  Couldn't get him to move so I headed down Kona and went home......that's two rattlers on my last two rides................

Thomas....when you gonna post the video? Or is that helmet cam still acting up and you need a real man (me) to fim it for you!
No silly shock/seat/upside down angles...just straight shot with some music would be nice...
make it happen.
