 tickedoff

I knew going in that one of the worst scenarios is to have a storm end on Friday night or Saturday morning. All the mud whompers came out of the woodwork to do their thing.

No less than 8 motos 'straightening out the lines' on the new singletrack  violent5

The fire road after climb from where Kona ends, all the way to the power lines is pretty tore up from the quads, motos and horses doing their thing. I knew there would be some puddles in the usual places, but all the knobs made the soft dirt like riding through wet cement  violent5

You could see where the horses had been slipping and sliding on the steeper grades  violent5

Kona has some pretty ugly sections down near the last few hundred yards of the creek bed trail  violent5

On the bright side, there were two sheriffs putting around respectfully on quads. They passed by me no less than four times while I waited at the top of the climb for my friend Rich and his 12 year old son. If they would have merely stopped and listened for a minute here and there they could have located the perps pretty easily  BangHead

Rode again this morning and was generally pleased to see the trails in pretty good shape after the past couple fronts moved through. It didn't pour a ton, so the effect was positive IMHO. The fire road climb is still relatively tore up, but not too much a guy and a shovel can do there.

But the singletracks are in pretty good shape. We've been spending quite a few hours out there and it's been paying off. The cool thing is that I have been noticing that someoen else has also been working on the trails. The latest work I saw this morning was on Burn Victim just as it gets down to the bottom. Whoever did the rut filling there: wav

If anyone else wants to go out this coming week and do some more work, let me know. Now is the time while the dirt has some moisture in it. I have some tools already stashed up there although one more square nose shovel would be great.
