It's a little tricky to get to. The trail runs north/south from behind a youth rehab center near the 1000 Trails r.v. park on the north end and up the north face of Mt. Gleason to the south. There is no good access point in Acton however. So from the Santiago Rd. exit turn right to Soledad Cyn Rd., then right to Aliso Cyn Rd, then left for about 4 miles to FS Road 4N32. Turn right on this dirt road. The trail crosses the road about 2 miles in but it's not marked and easy to miss. I park under a power tower just past the trail crossing.
I'd say it's intermediate-upper intermediate. There are many slow speed, medium tech moves mostly in and out of drainages with sharp turns. The section up Mt. Gleason is loose, narrow and though the grade is gradual, it commands your attention to avoid sliding off into the loose stuff. The far north section has some diffucult rocky sections and is steeper than the rest of the trail. Despite the trimming done by Clip'd In people a few months ago, spring overgrowth has bcome more of a problem but it's not that bad. Act fast if you want to go. This is a hot trail in summer with little shade unless you start early. Let me know when you want to ride and I'll take you. It is a fun, sustainable trail which could benefit from more use.
