I rode this trail yesterday and have some good news.  The Forest Service has rediscovered this trail!  About .5 mi from the switchbacks heading south up Mt. Gleason, I noticed an atv track, lots of boot prints in the damp soil and that the trail had been worked on!  Almost all the moto terraces had been fixed and what brush we didn't cut in Jan. had been trimmed.  I talked to a moto rider who said the FS had been doing the work.  Looks like they gained access up a jeep road that parallels the trail then cut a short atv trail to the singletrack.  I rode about a mile above the switchbacks and saw that the work continued past that point.  I had cut brush from where the trail crosses the mine road so I didn't go any higher.  The work paid off because the downhill was great with the trail smooth and mostly brush free.  I'll call the fs tomorrow to find out when they're going back.  Hopefully, they'll take it to the top of Gleason.

I'm going to ride it again this Saturday with the small group from my church.  If any of you want to ride then come on out.  Meet at the Santiago exit ramp off the northbound 14 fwy at 9:00 a.m. on the 14th.  No need for any trail work this time!  Just enjoy the trail work that the crew did; both the fs and our crew back in Jan.  The trail is really sweet now!  Let me know if any of you want to ride this trail.  It's about 16 miles out and back if we ride the north section as well.
