Up the fireroad..... along the saddle.... down the jump trail.  Always a fun trail.  Extra credit if tie allows.

I'm new to this site so please forgive me if I don't understand your post. Are you going to be doing this ride on Saturday (I'm assuming so since it is on the calendar) and what time? Is it ok for anyone to join in?

I'd like to go, however as it will be my first time on the trail, wanted to know if it'll be too technical for me.  Chriscor, I rode with you at Nature Center so you know how I ride.  My bike is more of a cross-country as opposed to an all-mountain.  I've never done Viper or this Jumps trail.  I did go OTB on the Charlie Canyon descent in the summer.

calvin, you'll have  no problems on  this trail.   its well groomed all the way down, no real steep sections or rutted sections.  its like a roller coaster or luge/bobsled run.  lots of banked/burmed turns and  rollers all the way down.   think Nature Center with  jumps thrown in.  you dont have to get air on the jumps, you can slow down enuff to roll thru them. Your brakes will get a work out!  Dans dad Len rides this all the time!  there's a video of the trail on this site, but you dont have to spike your bike at the end like Dan does.....
SBADEN , I think he has it set for 0730.  Everyone is welcome, whats you level of experience?

Not sure how to rate my riding level but I have been mountain biking for over ten years here and there. I don't race or anything but can handle a fair amount of technical. I've ridden viper years ago- several times. Have been off my bike since Thanksgiving because of the time change (early days) and a couple of colds so my endurance is probably down a bit. Before that I was riding up Sullivan canyon to dirt Mulholland and back down Westridge looping back to my car in about an hour.

I have been looking for a group to ride with - it's difficult to get my friends to go regularly if you know what I mean.

SBADEN.... sounds to me like you're good to go.  Its not too difficult of a climb but a good workout nonetheless.  The jump trail down is a lot of fun.  And just like Scott mentioned, you can roll thru them instead of jumping them.  Its fun, you should try it.  Bring other folks too if you like, everyone is welcome.

Thanks, I appreciate the help. Still not sure why I can't tell what time the ride is. I'm using Safari.
Is the time posted on the calendar or in the post?

Also, I'm not familiar with the ride. How do I find it and where does everyone meet?

I watched the five deer trail video also- looks like an awesome trail! I'm not too familiar with a lot of single track in Santa Clarita.

Cool.  I'm in for sure.  My buddy RG will be coming and he might get some other guys.  Good call, Chris.

SBaden and others, for those that don't know how to get to the trailhead, use Google Maps and go to location 34.527242,-118.442958.  Also, I'd be willing to meet you at the Burger King parking lot on 26480 Bouquet Canyon Rd (cross st Newhall Ranch Rd) at 7:15am.  I drive a Silver Matrix.  Just be sure to check this site the morning of in case I can't go for some reason, I'll post it here.

Looks like its gonna be a COLD weekend so be prepared for it!  Light showers Thurs and/or Friday might make the trail a bit more desirable though.  See you there!

one last question:  how's the parking?  are there enough spots?  will we need to drive up a service road like at 5 Deer?  if so, don't know if my Matrix can handle it.  i'll be at Burger King from 7:10a to 7:15a, then leaving at 7:15a sharp toward the trailhead.  look forward to it!

Chanca-

I'll try to be at Burger King by 7:00am. You can throw your bike on my rack if you would like. I have a Ford Explorer- not 4X4 but can do a little off road if needed.

No dirt road driving.
The parking is on the west side of Bouquet across from the fire road (west side) that we will ride up.
About 1.5 miles past the Bouquet Forest Service Fire Station.
