might take the day off altogether.    suppose to cool down by thurs.  if we go up the same ST we go down in, there will be lots of shelter climbing out.  If we chose to go up the FR around the Nike missle site, its gonna be exposed most of the way.
just my 2 cents..... im actually up for anything.

Isnt sullivan a lot of fireroad?

los robles  looks like a pretty big ride, add in drive time, dont know if 1230 is doable.  seems like lotsa traffic last coupla rides we did outta town.

if everyone takes a machete, we could clean up  5 deer as we take breaks.   ST up ( lots of breaks to  hack brush)  and ST back down.

Sulli is only FR if you want it to be, you can ST most of it.

But I AGREE on the Traffic it has Su(ked!!!

No way to do Los Robles and be guaranteed home by noon30.

I say 5 Deer and as Scottay said...ride up the ST and do what trail work we can and still enjoy the ride!!!

Yup...Sullivan can be mostly ST if you want it to be.  However, after going thru this morning's traffic, I do share your view on weekday morning outta town rides.  Its probably not gonna get easier again for another couple of months.

5 Deer is cool........ but I dont have a machete!

i have a 14" machete and a folding saw.   any kind of cutters/pruners would help.

Just an FYI about doing Los Robles from SCV and back by 12:30. I drive from Castaic to T.O. for work (just across the freeway from Los Robles) and ride L.R. regularly. It's easily doable in that amount of time and I might add, much more fun than a fireroad.

You could park at Stagecoach Park at Ventu Park & Lynn Rd. Ride up Rosewood and east across just under the ridge to the top of the switchbacks, down the switchbacks and back across the lower trail to your cars in under an hour. Or you could add the Los Padres Loop in another 45 minutes with another 15 minutes for the little Bay Mare Loop if you wanted and still have two hours to get back to SCV.

You could also do the same basic route, but start from the end of Moorpark Rd, just south of the 101.

There is traffic, (I usually go through Fillmore and then over Grimes Canyon and it's not too bad) but if you haven't ridden there, you'd probably be glad you tried it.

Just a thought...
Regards,
Jeff

I would definitely like the ride to last longer than the drive.
So I would add on the other loops.   How long does it take you to get to work and at what time?

Sounds like you know the area pretty good...any chance you could post a ride out there and show the best route, Someday!!!

You ride with Foshizzle? (Eric)

I have not met Eric, but I know of him and know people that ride with him.

It takes me anywhere from an hour to an hour and twenty depending on what time I leave. The worst traffic is from Moorpark to TO. I've been commuting this way for over 13 years and riding Los Robles off and on since 96'.

I'd be happy to show you guys around there some time.
