Rode Nature Center again today.
The County is going to town on it.  From Walker Ranch to the washout they have bulldozed the trail to a 4 foot wide track and have laid pipe to make a culvert in the washout.  They plan to grade down to make a land bridge temporarily with about a 6 foot deep climb in out, but ridable.  Ralph the guy heading up the project said they will eventually put up a sweet bridge across.  He also said the would likely be grading from the top down as well.  I guess the horsey types have been after them for a while to clean up the ruts and exposures.  But after a winters rains and the new growth, it should be a sweet trail again, hopefully by spring.

Everything is now gone.  The trees by the falls, the rope, the tree bridge...all gone, completely.  I hiked down right where the bridge was, bike in hand, and climbed out up by the falls.  Scottay hiked down around and up the washout to the falls.  I would guess by the end of this week, it should be walkable or even rideable.  But the rest of the trail past that is all soft and wide from the dozer.

Yeah shuffling the face of the falls is tough with hard soled mtb shoes....no traction!!!

The county has graded the trail from Walker ranch to the "bridge" with a bobcat.  They place pipes in the trench to create a culvert and graded the trail down so it is now a ridable land bridge.

I thought the Nature Center trails were off limits to bikes...?!?  Or, is that only in the front section of the park?  It is a great area to ride but never did as I thought it was taboo.

No the Sign posted at Walker Ranch is a BS sign.
The sign at the top says share the trail...and the trail is forrest property (legal for biking) the lower river from Walker to Nature Center, that is another story but I beleive it is OK to ride, just be really curtious of any hikers you come across.

Wonderful news!  I've been wanting to ride there but didn't want to cross the line.  Enough bad press these days about MTBers as it is.
