Big Blue Adventure Race – Castaic 4/29/06

Hey all.

I saw the post for the Big Blue off-road triathlon and didn’t want to highjack…

I’m looking to partake in the suffering on 4-29-06 when Big Blue puts on a Sprint Adventure Race in Castaic. Here’s a link:

Anyone local planning to compete? I would love to have a buddy(ies) to train and compete with. I am not looking to win – or even be competitive – I just want to finish, have fun and not make a total fool out of myself. Some of my info:

-I live in Valencia
-I’m 30 years old
-I have two wee ones, so training comes second (or third, or…) and usually happens REALLY early in the AM or in the evening (usually between 8 and 10PM).
-My fitness level is not where it needs to be so I could really use some peer pressure/support during training/racing.
-I’ve got a little bit of navigation/orienteering experience
-I have NO paddling experience AND no boat. If you are capable of moving at least 50% of your own body weight while running/biking/paddling and have a boat, I’d be interested in training and racing with you.
-I’m not a very good trail runner.
-I hate Lycra, but still occasionally wear it.
-I have a vanilla scented air freshener in my car.
-If I had a truck, I would have a pine scented air freshener in it.
-I don’t whine.
