Bouquet Ranger Station Single Track!
« on: January 31, 2006, 12:44:01 PM »

About 3 months ago one weekday morning  I met some young gun rangers riding mountain bikes up the Bouquet dirt road that leads to the motorcyle trail. They told me of a single track that goes off to the left at the top of the switch backs of the fire road-where the water tank is. I did that trail this morning...WOW it is FAST- with one or two steep sections! It then turns it to some pretty fun single track with switch backs that sure are challenging! It literally drops you behind the ranger station & is really a pretty fun/challenging section of single track. I can't believe all the years I have been riding up here & never knew of this sweet slice of single track.--It might be better to park just past the ranger station (2nd one going up) if you do not want to finish the ride climbing back up to your car although it aint that tuff going back up!

Also as you are going down the trail- the single track that leads down to Bouquet is right before a cut-off telephone pole that is on a small rise right in the center of the trail. The trail drops down to the right into the canyon...I am not sure what happens if you go past the cut-off telephone pole!!?? Maybe I will try that next lipsrsealed

Hey Matt,

So once you get to the water tank area, you look for a single track that begins to the left area of the tank?  And upon finding it, the trail will begin then end behind the ranger station?

Thanks Matt!

You go left past the tannk & follow the dirt road to a small 3 foot fence--throw your bike over the fence & follow the trail down the mountain....you can't miss it. The trail drops very fast & is like a "mini viper". Right b-4 you get to a cut-off telephone pole the singltrack drops to the right towards Bouquet Canyon. blob8 blob8 blob8 wav blob8 blob8
